Looong happy journal ahead!

Hello everyone and happy holidays, I hope your year has been a good one and if not, I hope next year will bring good tidings to you and your family

Now then, onto other things. I just want to say that the following journal has been well thought out and is meant to be a positive thing.

As most of you know, I rarely come on DA anymore. I have all but left, and now it's time I say goodbye. The reason I am writing this journal is because so many of my friends and artists I watch just delete their account or disappear off DA. But I don't want to be like that; I have had a wonderful experience on DA and this site deserves more than that. I have made too many good friends on here.

So, here is the history of Drayok (me) and my time spent on DA and finally, why I am leaving.


DA is the entire reason I got into art. Before DA, I might have occasionally drawn. Like once a year, but never knew what art could really be, never knew what art could do to a person. I found one artist on here who totally inspired me to draw (they are no longer on DA). Their art was amazing. I didn't know art could be like that.

I started drawing wolves and dragons and finally started making characters of my own. It was really, really wonderful. I loved my characters, they seemed so alive to me. I'd create stories and want to share worlds I created. I met wonderful artists on here, and some inspired me to change.

I tried many different art styles, traditional, digital, etc. Found what I liked, what I didn't like.

I drew and drew and drew some more, and then I found an old skeleton key that my mom had bought for me in a little shop in Reno Nevada when we were on vacation. I took the key and turned it into a necklace, 2 years later KeypersCove was born blah blah blah keys changed my life blah blah blah.

Years after I joined DA, I decided I wanted to go to art school. I got accepted into an AMAZING art school that stole my heart away. But life is funny, and without getting personal... well, let's just say things didn't work out, and I had to leave.

After that, I started drawing less and less. Some things happened in life that took me in a different direction, and eventually I found myself no longer a part of the art community (well, for drawing and painting etc.) My account had been taken over by business, and my motivations to draw were no more.

I started going to school for something else, and found it to be my passion. I bid farewell to my characters (they were neglected enough so I let them fade away), tucked away my plans for art, and started on a new path.

I have left DA for good now, I was really only hanging around for questions related to keys, but if anyone has those they can now just head over to and they'll be happy to answer you.

Now, a question might be "Well, what if you want to get back into art?"

With the way my schedule is I don't think I will be. After a year without the slightest inclination to post here I don't think I will be, and if I ever do it won't be something I'll probably want to share (not to be selfish or anything, just the way I am).

So I just wanted to thank everyone on DA and DA itself, because I am at a very happy place in my life and I really, really enjoyed my time here, but this account will be left as is right now and nothing else will be uploaded. I won't be here anymore.



I'd like to end thanking a few people. I know I'm going to leave some people out because either I skipped their name on my list (I watch so many people now) or they changed their name and I have no idea who they are.

First off, I'd like to give my thanks to a good friend of mine who is probably one of the coolest, nicest people on this site. If you aren't watching them, you should be!

is also another really amazing person (she's the one responsible for my awesome icon).

I've also enjoyed talking to the following people, who have inspired me and really made my time here great. Some of you I haven't talked to in a very long while, but I still remember you all to be wonderful, and you influenced me more than you know:
